CLUB RULES

All members of our Bushcrafters Clubs must abide by the following rules:

  1. Contribute to a supportive and positive environment that ensures everyone enjoys being a member of Back to Basics Bushcrafters Club.
  2. Contribute to an environment free of fear and harassment.
  3. To treat fellow members with respect and courtesy.
  4. Respect the rights of everyone to be treated as individuals and to be fair, honest and considerate to others.
  5. To be part of a Club where everyone has the chance to participate and to accept responsibility for your own actions.
  6. To use the facilities with respect, keep noise to a minimum and to leave the Club tidy when you leave.
  7. You are not to leave the premises unsupervised during Club hours.
  8. To notify the Club if you are going to be absent – members who are absent for five weeks without notifying the Club shall lose their membership and be put on the waiting list.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Weather

Bushcrafters will go ahead unless the weather is deemed unsafe: e.g. storms, lightning, icy conditions, torrential rain. Children must be dressed appropriately for the weather.

Recommended Clothing

Appropriate clothing and footwear for activities in the woods are essential. Back to Basics recommends:-

  • Sturdy boots, wellingtons or old trainers: NOT open toe shoes.
  • Tough clothing that you won’t mind getting a bit dirty – especially for shelter building!
  • A waterproof jacket or anorak if rain is at all likely
  • Warm clothes and a warm hat & gloves
  • Please Note: Children may be prevented from taking part in Activities if Back to Basics instructor/ leader consider them to be inappropriately dressed for the weather/conditions.

Behaviour

Back to Basics want the event to be an enjoyable experience for everyone. Unruly and out of control behaviour may lead to the cancellation of membership, or the removal of the individual(s) from the activity.

Parental responsibility

During Little Bushcrafters sessions your child(ren) remain your responsibility while at our events and must be supervised throughout. You must accept responsibility for their welfare AT ALL TIMES.

Medical / Additional Needs

Instructors should be made aware of any special medical or additional needs of children attending the event (e.g. asthma inhalers, EpiPen’s etc); Bushcrafters leaders carry a basic First Aid kit on all activities. We would also suggest that if children have cuts and grazes on exposed skin, to have them covered before children come to the club or event.

Insurance

Back to Basics Bushcrafters is insured as Outdoor Activity & Bushcraft providers and have professional indemnity & employee liability insurance cover suitable for all our activities. All trained leaders have a current Enhanced DBS, food hygiene, First Aid including paediatric & outdoor activity certificates. We are current members of the Institute of Outdoor Learning.

Photography

With your consent we take photos & videos of members and the activities we run for promotional and marketing purposes. You may remove your consent at any time by emailing us.

Liability

Back to Basics Bushcrafters activities take place in the outdoors, which by its nature is not free from hazard. Whilst all reasonable precautions are taken to minimize the risk, accidents including serious injury and death can occur without Back to Basics being at fault and to that extent clients participate at their own risk. The client also recognises that Back to Basics is not responsible for loss or damage to any or the client’s personal property, including: vehicles, money, clothing or equipment. Back to Basics accepts no responsibility for any mishap during a course from any instruction or information not given by Back to Basics appointed instructors or assistants or volunteers. Back to Basics also takes no responsibility for any mishaps occurring as a result of the client’s failure to follow intructions. Back to Basics will only accept liability for physical injury to a client that is shown to result from negligence on the part of Back to Basics Bushcrafters.

Additionally, if you are a European resident we note that we are processing your information in order to fulfil contracts we might have with you (for example if you make an order through the Site), or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests listed above. Additionally, please note that your information will be transferred outside of Europe, including to Canada and the United States.

DATA RETENTION
When you make contact through the Site, we will maintain your information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information.

CHANGES
We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons.
